Position : Sales Executive - Kampala

Missions of the Sales Executive:
1. Greeting Customers.
This is the major Supermarket Salesman responsibility to respectfully greet each customer when they arrive at the supermarket and lead them to the product they want.
2. Provide Offers Information
Most supermarkets are running with daily offers and discounts. It’s the duty of the salesman to provide every offer information to customers with accurate details.
3. Assist Customers
Supermarket salesmen have to give full assistance to customers in finding their appropriate product or they can guide them to the right shelves.
4. Follow Supermarket Policies
The salesman has to make sure that stock shelves follow the supermarket policies correctly. Any of the products on the shelf are not breaking the policy rules.
5. Check Stocks
From time to time checking on the stocks is covered in the duty of a supermarket salesman. If any of the items is found out of stock then it has to be informed to the supervisor.
6. Solve Customer’s Query
Supermarket salesman have to answer customers regarding all the queries of product and deliveries.
7. Guide Customers
In the whole shopping process, a supermarket salesman has to guide customers in which they should solve and escort the customers.
8. Demonstrate Items
The supermarket salesman has to demonstrate all the supermarket items to sell them effectively. Hence, product demonstrations attract consumers and increase sales.
9. Ensure Damage & Expiry Products
A good salesman must ensure that any product on the shelf is not damaged and hasn’t reached the expiry date yet. If found any then immediately report to remove it. Through this, you are serving the best to the customers.
10. Play A Cashier Role
Among all the duties and responsibilities of salesman in supermarket, this one is crucial. They have to play the cashier role. As a cashier, the salesman has to carefully collect the appropriate money for the product by offering all the payment modes available to the consumers.
11. Attaching Pricing Labels
Attaching pricing labels to each product before decorating on the shelves is the duty of supermarket salesmen.
12. Ensuring Fresh Items
A supermarket salesman should ensure that the individual product department is consistently restocked with fresh items only.
13. Refunds and Returns
Due to the refund and return schemes of supermarkets, a lot of customers will come back to replace the product. For that, the salesman has to handle the complete procedure of customer’s refunds and returns.
14. Vigilant Eye On Frauds
With an open mind, the supermarket salesman has to keep a careful eye on the frauds occurring at the supermarket such as shoplifters and fraudulent credit cards.
15. Report Suspicious Activities
If any suspicious activity should be detected within the supermarket premises, then it must be immediately reported by a supermarket salesman to the supervisor.
16. Receive Deliveries
The supermarket salesman should receive the delivery of supermarket merchandise and ensure all the products are collected and stored properly.
17. Record Sales
Every day’s number of sales and type of sales should be recorded by the supermarket salesman.
18. Arrange Deliveries
If any customer buys a large item, then it’s a salesman’s responsibility to arrange safe delivery of their purchased product.
19. Ensure Price Changes
Supermarket salesman have to ensure that price changes stick to each product immediately. If they miss it, then the supermarket merchandise will face unnecessary loss in sales.
20. Train New Hires
Providing encouraging sales training to the new hires and helping them through the induction period is the greatest duties and responsibilities of salesman in supermarket.
21. Cleanliness and Maintenance
Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within the supermarket is a shared responsibility, and salesmen actively contribute to this aspect. They keep their assigned areas clean, tidy, and well-organized.
22. Customer Feedback and Conflict Resolution
Salesmen are often the first point of contact for customers, which makes them essential in gathering feedback and addressing concerns. By providing excellent customer service, salesmen contribute to customer loyalty and the overall reputation of the supermarket.

Education and Qualification Required for Supermarket Salesman
