Role Description
Outrival HR Solutions & Consultancies Ltd is recruiting for the position of a Trade and Investment Manager on behalf of our reputable client, a leading player in the Oil and Gas industry in Nairobi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving strategic trade initiatives, managing investment portfolios, identifying growth opportunities, and strengthening regional and international partnerships. This role is critical in shaping the company’s commercial footprint, ensuring optimal investment returns, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and trade frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement trade and investment strategies aligned with the organization’s growth objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate new investment opportunities, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships within the energy sector.
  • Conduct market intelligence and economic analysis to support decision-making on imports, exports, and capital allocation.
  • Lead negotiations with international suppliers, government agencies, regulators, and investors.
  • Oversee trade compliance, customs regulations, and adherence to local and international energy trade laws.
  • Manage risk assessment frameworks related to foreign exchange, commodity price fluctuations, and geopolitical exposure.
  • Prepare compelling investment proposals, feasibility studies, and board-level briefing reports.
  • Monitor performance of investment projects to ensure optimal returns and strategic alignment.
  • Represent the organization in trade forums, investment summits, and stakeholder engagements.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Energy Studies, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in banking operations.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and energy market dynamics.
  • Demonstrated experience in structuring and negotiating high-value commercial deals.
  • Proven ability to engage high-level stakeholders, including government entities and investors.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and strategic planning skills.
