Position : Tennis Coach - Nairobi

We are looking to hire a passionate, committed and energetic Tennis Coach to provide tennis lessons and mentorship to students of different ages and varying playing level.
The coach will work with:

  1. Beginners (students who wish to learn how to play tennis),
  2. Intermediate (those seeking to improve their tennis skills), or
  3. Advanced players (those competing in tennis tournaments).

The coach will coordinate individual and group tennis lessons, help the academy develop training programs based on students' tennis skills, and evaluate students’ performance.
Ideally, an outstanding coach should be able to bring the best out of students. Our goal is to move students from the beginner level to the advanced level and prepare those who wish to go to the Pro level.
Responsibilities :

  • Helping students to develop and improve their tennis skills.
  • Identify players' strengths and weaknesses and set achievable goals.
  • Coordinating and conducting individual and group tennis lessons.
  • Helping the academy to develop suitable training programs for students based on their age, objectives, and individual skill sets.
  • Developing fun and innovative ways to assist beginner or younger students in learning and remembering the rules of the game.
  • Identifying the learning styles that work best for each student and adapting all coaching methods accordingly.
  • Providing mentorship to young students to help develop them into well rounded individuals.
  • Providing a secure and productive learning environment for students.
  • Provide guidance on nutrition, fitness, and injury prevention.
  • Maintain accurate records of players' progress and achievements.
  • Scheduling meetings with students' parents or guardians to discuss their progress.
  • Attending students' tennis matches, competitions, and tournaments as required.
  • Adhere to all our policies and procedures.

Required profile for job ad : Tennis Coach - Nairobi

  1. Have a passion for tennis and sports and fitness in general.
  2. Have a passion for mentorship and seeing others grow.
  3. A team player – Have a team mindset, thus putting others first.
  4. Learnability - Have the ability to learn and be led by the head coaches and management.
  5. Experience working as a sports instructor in any sport.
  6. Ability to motivate students.
  7. Flexibility to work holidays, evenings and weekends.
  8. Great communication and customer service (PR) skills.
  9. Excellent time management and organisation skills
  10. While not mandatory, a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field is an added advantage
  11. While not mandatory, a recognised tennis coaching Certification is an added advantage
  12. First aid and CPR certification is an added advantage.

Physical Demands: The Tennis Coach must be able to stand for extended periods of time and be able to move around the tennis court with ease. The Coach must also be able to lift and carry tennis equipment as needed.
