Position : Social Worker - Nairobi

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Social Worker to support children and families receiving palliative care. The Social Worker will provide emotional, psychological, and practical support to help families navigate the challenges of life-limiting illnesses. This role involves working closely with healthcare professionals, caregivers, and community resources to ensure comprehensive, family-centered care.

    Responsibilities :

    • Conduct assessments to understand the emotional, social, and financial needs of children and families in palliative care.
    • Provide individual and family counseling to offer emotional and psychological support.

    • Offer grief and bereavement support before and after the loss of a child.
    • Advocate for families in accessing healthcare, financial aid, and social services.
    • Coordinate with palliative care teams, including doctors, nurses, and therapists, to ensure holistic care.
    • Educate families about coping strategies, self-care, and available support networks.
    • Facilitate support groups for parents, siblings, and caregivers.
    • Conduct home and hospital visits to provide ongoing assistance.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
