Position : Senior Storekeeper - Nairobi

We are looking for a Senior Storekeeper.
Position Summary
The Senior Storekeeper oversees all warehouse and inventory operations to ensure the timely, safe, and accurate handling of raw materials, packaging components, finished goods, and samples used in beauty product manufacturing. This role ensures compliance with quality, safety, and GMP standards while supporting efficient production flow and minimizing inventory discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Materials Management

  • Oversee receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of raw materials (oils, fragrances, actives, bases), packaging materials, and finished beauty products.
  • Ensure materials are stored according to safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., temperature, contamination control, FIFO/FEFO).
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile inventory variances in coordination with the inventory control team.
  • Maintain accurate stock records in ERP/WMS systems.

Warehouse Operations

  • Supervise day-to-day warehouse activities including unloading, labeling, shelving, and dispatching.
  • Ensure proper handling of sensitive beauty-product materials (e.g., flammable liquids, fragile packaging).
  • Optimize warehouse layout for efficient material flow and safe working conditions.
  • Prepare and monitor stock replenishment requests based on production schedules.

Quality & Compliance

  • Enforce adherence to GMP, ISO, and company-specific quality standards.
  • Ensure proper documentation, material traceability, and lot control.
  • Coordinate with QA to quarantine or release materials as required.
  • Monitor storage conditions and ensure proper housekeeping and pest-control practices.

Team Leadership

  • Provide guidance, training, and task assignment to storekeepers and warehouse assistants.
  • Monitor performance, ensure adherence to SOPs, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Foster teamwork, discipline, and a culture of safety.

Reporting & Coordination

  • Collaborate with procurement, production, QA/QC, and logistics teams to ensure on-time material availability.
  • Prepare daily/weekly inventory and material movement reports.
  • Support audits and provide required documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of warehouse/storekeeping experience, preferably in cosmetics, beauty products, or FMCG manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, material handling, and inventory management systems.
  • Proficiency in ERP/WMS software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift moderate loads and work in warehouse environments.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
