Position : Senior Procurement Ofiicer - Harare

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Procurement Officer to manage and optimise our purchasing activities and supplier relationships. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring cost-effective procurement, contract compliance, risk mitigation, and uninterrupted supply of goods and services critical to business operations.
This role requires strong negotiation skills, strategic sourcing expertise, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end procurement processes, including sourcing, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, and contract award
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organisational objectives
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive value-for-money initiatives
  • Manage and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring quality, reliability, and compliance
  • Conduct market analysis to identify new suppliers and industry trends
  • Prepare and review contracts, purchase orders, and procurement documentation
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards
  • Support risk management efforts by identifying and mitigating supply chain risks
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and specifications
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
  • 7+ years of procurement or sourcing experience
  • Strong knowledge of contract management and supplier negotiation
  • Experience with ERP or procurement systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Excellent analytical and financial evaluation skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

Preferred Skills

  • Professional certification (CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent)
  • Experience in [industry – e.g., manufacturing, construction, energy, healthcare]
  • Knowledge of international sourcing and trade regulations
  • Familiarity with risk management and compliance frameworks
