Position : Senior Operations Manager - Johannesburg

We are looking for a Senior Operations Manager.
The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing, optimizing, and leading the organization’s operational functions to ensure efficiency, quality, and profitability. This role provides strategic direction, manages cross-functional teams, and drives continuous improvement initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost control
  • Oversee day-to-day operations across departments to ensure smooth and effective business performance
  • Establish and monitor operational KPIs, performance metrics, and service standards
  • Lead, mentor, and manage operations teams, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and health and safety standards
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align operations with business strategy and growth objectives
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation to support operational excellence
  • Oversee vendor, supplier, and stakeholder relationships to ensure service quality and value
  • Prepare and present operational reports and insights to executive management

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in operations management, with at least 3–5 years in a senior or leadership role
  • Strong understanding of operational best practices, process optimization, and performance management
  • Proven leadership experience managing large teams and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in operational planning tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications
