Senior Hydrogeologist - Man

Reporting to Chief Geotech engineer, the senior Hydrogeologist is responsible for providing hydrogeology technical support to the Mining department to ensure that the mine functions effectively and safely.
Responsabilities 
Technical Accountabilities

• Develop hydrogeology design criteria to support safe and optimal mine operations.
• Plan and manage the installation of the mine-wide water monitoring systems and boreholes.
• Develop dewatering designs to ensure compliance with mining and environmental regulations and site standards as they relate to water management for productive and safe mine operations
• Coordinate with Mine Planning and Operations to ensure maximum utilization of dewatering equipment and methods in the planning and execution phases of the operation.
• Advice planning & operations personnel on hydrogeology issues relating to production drilling, blast, mining and mine design.
• Plan and budget hydrogeological drilling programs and conduct numerical modelling work for mine design and optimization.

• Incorporate all relevant regulations and statutory requirements into plans and designs to minimise Endeavour’s risk exposure and liabilities
• Contribute to the achievement of Endeavour’s Occupational Health & Safety goals by implementing appropriate programs and processes

Expertise Development & Continuous Improvement 

• Ensure procedures and practices are applied and identify opportunities for improvement
• Identify business improvement opportunities
• Evaluate and propose optimum solutions for problematic situations (based on accumulated data/information) which threaten the achievement of planned objectives
• Contribute to overall business improvement and profitability by implementing efficiency plans and cost reduction plans where possible within the department whilst supporting organisational objectives and achievement of set targets.

Staff Development

• Provide guidance, coaching and technical assistance and support to the Mining team.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of the team to identify areas requiring improvement and implement training and coaching measures to ensure employees receive sufficient training enabling them to perform their duties in a safe and efficient manner.
• Conduct formal career development discussions with employees and identify development opportunities and programs that assist with defining future career progression possibilities.
