Position : Security Manager - Kampala

Job Title: Security ManagerCompany: Ubuntu MoversLocation: Kampala, Uganda

Job Purpose

  • To develop, implement, and manage security strategies and systems that safeguard company assets, personnel, cargo, and operations across Ubuntu Movers’ logistics network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols across all operations
  • Conduct risk assessments for warehouses, offices, and transportation routes
  • Oversee cargo security during storage, handling, and transit
  • Manage and supervise security personnel, including guards and contracted providers
  • Investigate security incidents, theft, losses, and breaches, and implement corrective actions
  • Implement access control systems and monitor surveillance (CCTV, alarms, tracking systems)
  • Coordinate route security planning for high-value or sensitive shipments
  • Liaise with law enforcement and regulatory authorities when required
  • Ensure compliance with local security regulations and company standards
  • Develop and conduct security awareness training for staff
  • Monitor and report on security performance and risks to management
  • Oversee emergency response planning, including crisis management and evacuation procedures
  • Manage security budgets and procurement of security equipment and services

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminology, Business Administration, or related field
  • Professional certification in security management is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in security management, preferably in logistics, transport, or warehousing
  • Strong knowledge of risk management, asset protection, and cargo security
  • Experience in managing security teams and systems

Reporting Line
