Safety Officer - Greater Accra

We are looking to employ a qualified and competent Safety Officer who will be responsible for the health and safety of staff in the workplace. The safety officer will compile safety programs and standardize them to remain consistent, as well as share best practice techniques at regular staff meetings. Candidate should be updated with the latest trends in health and safety, and consistently implement these practices in the workplace. Ultimately, the candidate should be able to maintain compliance with all safety regulations and ensure that every member of staff complies with the regulated standard.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Compile safety programs2. Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.)3. Implement and maintain health and safety standards4. Establish a cordial and professional relationship with employees5. Initiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives6. Conduct regular staff meetings to share best practice techniques7. Standardize health and safety in order to remain consistent8. Identify hazardous waste and disposing of it correctly9. Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy10. Compile and maintain relevant registers to ensure compliance11. Document staff information, minutes of meetings, and reports compiled for management12. Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation.
