Safety Officer - Coast,Nairobi, Rift Valley, Nyanza

We are looking to employ a qualified and competent Safety Officer responsible for the health and safety of staff in the workplace. The safety officer will compile safety programs, standardise them to remain consistent, and share best practice techniques at regular staff meetings. Candidates should be updated with the latest trends in health and safety, and these practices should be consistently implemented in the workplace. Ultimately, the candidate should be able to maintain compliance with all safety regulations and ensure that every staff member complies with the regulated standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Compile safety programs.
• Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (e.g., noise levels, use of machinery).
• Implement and maintain health and safety standards.
• Establish a cordial and professional relationship with employees.
• Initiate and organise OHS training for employees and executives.
• Conduct regular staff meetings to share best practice techniques.
• Standardize health and safety procedures to ensure consistency.
• Identify hazardous waste and dispose of it correctly.
• Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
• Compile and maintain relevant registers to ensure compliance.
• Document staff information, minutes of meetings, and reports for management.
• Review existing policies and measures and update them according to legislation.
