Position : Restaurant Kitchen Supervisor - Gauteng
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Kitchen Supervisor to support the Head Chef and kitchen management team in the daily running of a busy, quality-focused restaurant in Groenkloof. This role is ideal for a strong kitchen leader who understands operational discipline, food quality standards, and team coordination, and who thrives in a fast-paced service environment.
The successful candidate will help ensure consistency, efficiency, hygiene compliance, and smooth kitchen operations at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day kitchen operations during service
- Support the Head Chef in maintaining food quality and consistency
- Ensure kitchen staff follow recipes, portion control, and plating standards
- Assist with staff supervision, training, and shift management
- Monitor food preparation, timing, and service flow
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas
- Step in to support service during peak periods as required
- Communicate effectively with FOH and management teams

Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Supervisor, Senior Line Cook, or Sous Chef in a restaurant or hospitality environment
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards
- Ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
