Position : Project Manager - Nairobi
Job Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and closing projects while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. The role involves coordinating teams, managing budgets and timelines, mitigating risks, and communicating progress to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets
- Lead project execution and ensure adherence to approved plans
- Manage project changes through formal change control processes
Budget & Resource Management
- Develop and manage project budgets and cost controls
- Allocate and manage project resources effectively
- Monitor expenditures and ensure financial accountability
Risk, Quality & Compliance
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor/regulatory requirements where applicable
Stakeholder & Communication Management
- Manage internal and external stakeholders and expectations
- Prepare and present project status reports to leadership and clients
- Facilitate project meetings, reviews, and steering committees
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead cross-functional project teams and vendors
- Motivate, coach, and hold team members accountable for deliverables
- Resolve conflicts and remove project roadblocks
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Track project progress using KPIs and performance metrics
- Conduct post-project evaluations and lessons learned
- Ensure proper project documentation and knowledge transfer
Tools & Systems
- Utilize project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, Trello)
- Support or establish PMO standards and best practices
Required profile for job ad : Project Manager - Nairobi
Key Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business, Engineering, IT, or related field
- Professional certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum, or equivalent) is highly desirable
- Minimum 8–10 years’ experience managing projects end-to-end
- Proven experience managing multi-stakeholder and multi-disciplinary projects
