Position : Project Lead - Kilifi

We are looking for a Project Lead.
Responsibilities :

  • Manage the procurement, installation, and commissioning of all facility equipment.
  • Design efficient production workflows and optimised plant layouts.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance systems.
  • Lead the recruitment, training, and management of the initial operations team.
  • Define product specifications and conduct trials specifically for the Kenyan horticulture market.
  • Oversee early customer onboarding, commercial agreements, and product feedback loops.
  • Establish comprehensive cost structures, pricing models, and logistics processes.
  • Develop and monitor operating budgets, working capital, and financial viability.
  • Implement KPI tracking for yield, throughput, and production cost efficiency.
  • Optimise the supply chain, from raw material husk collection to waste utilisation.

Required profile for job ad : Project Lead - Kilifi

  • 7–10+ years’ experience in agro-processing, manufacturing, or horticultural production.
  • Proven track record in setting up, commissioning, or scaling production facilities.
  • Strong operational execution capability with a commercial, B2B-focused mindset.
  • Ability to be physically present in Kilifi, Kenya, during the implementation phase.
  • Experience in cocopeat production or horticultural substrates (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Background in industrial start-ups, manufacturing scale-ups, or plant management.
