Position : Project Coordinator-Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning - Nairobi
We are looking for a Project Coordinator-Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning.
The MEAL Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all day-to-day activities across Lumorus’ MEAL projects, including the PMI Phase 2 programme. This role leans strongly into project management: translating programme objectives into practical delivery plans, coordinating multi-country field operations, tracking progress against milestones, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring that monitoring evidence and reporting outputs are delivered on time and to a high standard. In parallel, the Coordinator supports MEAL delivery by overseeing data collection workflows, strengthening data quality and compliance, supporting the design and rollout of MEAL tools, and contributing to evidence-based reports and dashboards using digital systems. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience across multiple countries, directly influence the quality and effectiveness of field operations, and help build a global MEAL capability within a forward-looking governance firm.

Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Delivery
- Coordinate day-to-day delivery of Lumorus MEAL projects (including PMI Phase 2), ensuring clear scope, milestones, and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain integrated workplans, schedules, monitoring calendars, and dependency tracking.
- Run weekly check-ins, track actions, maintain notes/decision logs, and monitor progress.
- Identify delays, risks, and resource gaps; propose mitigation actions.
- Document scope or approach changes and update plans accordingly.
2. Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Maintain and review RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies).
- Track donor/internal reporting deadlines and compliance requirements.
- Escalate monitoring risks, inconsistencies, or integrity concerns.
- Support virtual/in-person monitoring visits with proper documentation and approvals.
3. Multi-country Field Coordination
- Provide remote coordination and supervision to multi-country field officers.
- Ensure teams have tools, guidance, and support to deliver safely and consistently.
- Conduct regular check-ins, review updates, and track open actions.
- Support recruitment and onboarding of new field staff.
4. Quality Assurance & Data Integrity
- Ensure adherence to data collection standards and evidence quality thresholds.
- Conduct data verification, completeness checks, and quality reviews.
- Implement corrective actions where gaps are identified.
- Maintain organized evidence libraries with version control.
5. Data Management & Analysis
- Compile, clean, and manage data using Excel and tools such as SPSS, Power BI, ODK/Kobo.
- Establish consistent workflows for data collection, validation, storage, and backup.
6. Reporting & Learning
- Contribute to monthly/quarterly reports and concise stakeholder briefs.
- Document lessons learned and support internal learning processes.
7. MEAL Frameworks & Tools
- Support development and strengthening of MEAL frameworks.
- Contribute to data tools, SOPs, checklists, guidelines, and QA templates.
- Support rollout of digital monitoring tools and dashboards.
8. Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate with partners and community representatives on scheduling and data collection.
- Represent Lumorus in meetings and ensure clear follow-up and action tracking.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Demography, Sociology, Public Health, Social Sciences, Statistics, or Project Management.
- 2–5 years’ experience in project coordination, MEAL/M&E, or field data management (multi-country experience preferred).
- Strong planning, tracking, documentation, and remote team coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with SPSS, STATA, Power BI, DHIS2, ODK/Kobo, or similar tools.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to coordinate across time zones.
- Willingness to travel for field visits as required.
