Role Description
Outrival HR Solutions & Consultancies Ltd is recruiting for the position of a MIS Officer on behalf of our reputable client, a leading player in the Oil and Gas industry in Nairobi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, analyzing, and reporting data to support decision-making processes, ensuring operational efficiency, and contributing to the strategic objectives of the organization. This role requires proficiency in data management systems, analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and manage the company’s MIS systems, databases, and dashboards to support business operations.
- Collect, validate, and analyze data from various operational units to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze trends, patterns, and anomalies in operational and financial data to support management decisions.
- Prepare regular and ad hoc management reports, dashboards, and performance indicators for leadership.
- Collaborate with different departments to identify data requirements and system improvements.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and effectiveness through automation or enhanced data processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal data management policies and external regulations.
- Troubleshoot data and system issues and recommend improvements to optimize MIS processes.
- Support strategic decision-making by providing timely and actionable insights.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in MIS, data analysis, or reporting roles, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of MIS software, database management, and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Power BI).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
