As part of our growth, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Materials Planner to join our Supply Chain team.
Job Summary
The Materials Planner ensures the timely availability of materials and components required for production while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing stockouts or excess. This role works closely with production, procurement, warehouse, and quality teams to align material planning with production schedules and business goals.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate material requirements plans (MRP) based on production schedules, forecasts, and customer orders.
  • Monitor stock levels, analyze usage patterns, and plan replenishment to ensure right material, right quantity, right time.
  • Generate and issue purchase requisitions to Procurement for approval and sourcing.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Suppliers to follow up on lead times, deliveries, and supplier performance.
  • Track material receipts and update inventory records in the ERP system or inventory database.
  • Work closely with Production and Warehouse teams to communicate material needs and resolve material shortages or quality issues.
  • Prepare regular inventory reports, including stock levels, aging, variances, and forecast accuracy.
  • Assist with annual budgeting and demand forecasting activities.
  • Promote continuous improvement in material planning processes and inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards in handling and storage of materials.

Qualifications
Education & Professional Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Certification (e.g., APICS/CPIM, CSCP, or similar) is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in materials planning, inventory control, or related role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo, Microsoft Dynamics) preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Detail-oriented with good multitasking capability.

Working Conditions

  • Office and production floor environment interaction.
  • May require periodic visits to warehouse and supplier sites.
