Position : Lifting Machine Inspector - Cape Town

An opportunity for a qualified and experienced Lifting Machine Inspector is required for permanent employment based in Cape Town.

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct load testing and statutory inspections in line with Driven Machinery Regulation 18 (5), (6) & (7)
  • Perform inspections in accordance with OHS Act, Section 44 standards, OEM specifications and checklists
  • Inspect and test MEWP’s, Forklifts, Telehandlers and related lifting equipment
  • Compile accurate inspection reports and registers
  • Communicate compliance and non-compliance clearly to organisation and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain inspection schedules and documentation
  • Ensure strict adherence to ECSA Code of Practice
  • Uphold safety policies, quality standards and procedures
  • Maintain assigned company vehicle and testing equipment

Required profile for job ad : Lifting Machine Inspector - Cape Town

  • Registered with ECSA as a Lifting Machine Inspector (LMI)
  • ECSA Scope must include: MEWP’s + Forklifts + Telehandlers + Mobile Cranes (adv but not essential)
  • Min 3 years post-registration experience as an LMI
  • If registered 5+ years: proof of ECSA re-registration and expiry date
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • South African Citizen
  • Cape Town residency / relocation required
