Position : Law Clinic Director/Senior Legal Practitioner - Randburg

We are looking for a Law Clinic Director/Senior Legal Practitioner .
Responsibilities:
Legal and Case Management

  • Lead High Court and regional legal matters, offering expert guidance and oversight.
  • Draft complex legal documents, negotiate agreements, and manage high-stakes litigation.
  • Supervise candidate attorneys to ensure quality client service within means test criteria.

Leadership and Operations

  • Manage clinic operations, including recruitment, performance evaluations, and LPC compliance.
  • Oversee strategic planning, facilities management, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Campus Heads and report to the Dean.

Community Engagement

  • Build partnerships with township leaders, NGOs, and courts to advance access to justice.
  • Lead outreach initiatives such as pro-bono advice desks and community workshops.

Mentorship and Training

  • Oversee the training of candidate attorneys and LLB students.
  • Ensure high ethical and professional standards through mentorship and supervision.

Required profile for job ad : Law Clinic Director/Senior Legal Practitioner - Randburg

  • LLB (LLM advantageous).
  • Admitted attorney with 10+ years post-admission experience, including High Court litigation and civil law.
  • Accredited by the SA LPC to act as a training supervisor.
  • Proven management experience, including supervision of candidate attorneys.
  • Passion for pro-bono work and engagement with underserved communities.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages (advantageous).
