Position : IT Support Technician - Johannesburg

We are seeking a skilled IT Support Technician to join our team and provide technical assistance to end-users. The ideal candidate will diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, install and configure systems, and ensure smooth IT operations. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and excellent customer service.

  • Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems and software applications.
  • Assist with network troubleshooting, including Wi-Fi and LAN connectivity issues.
  • Set up new user accounts, email accounts, and access permissions.
  • Maintain IT documentation, including asset tracking and system configurations.
  • Respond to support tickets and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist with system updates, backups, and security measures.
  • Educate users on best practices for IT security and system usage.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members on larger projects and upgrades.

Required profile for job ad : IT Support Technician - Johannesburg

  • Diploma or certificate in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in IT support, help desk, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or Cisco) are a plus.
  • Office setting with occasional on-site or remote support.
  • May require lifting and moving IT equipment.
  • Possible after-hours support for critical issues or system updates.
