IT Specialist - Kigali

Key Responsibilities

1. IT Operations Management

• Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of IT infrastructure to ensure uptime and reliability.
• Manage all hardware, software, and networking systems to support business operations.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
• Ensure robust cybersecurity measures are in place to protect company and customer data from breaches.
• Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization.

1. Compliance and Regulatory Management

• Ensure IT systems comply with local and international regulations, including data protection laws.
• Maintain updated knowledge of regulatory requirements related to fintech and ensure IT systems align with them.
• Act as the primary point of contact for IT audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors and regulators.

1. Leadership and Team Management

• Lead and mentor the local IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with global IT leadership to align local strategies with organizational goals.
• Identify skills gaps within the Local Team and organize training or development programs to enhance team capabilities.

1. Strategic Planning and Innovation

• Develop and execute the IT strategy for Rwanda, ensuring alignment with Chipper Cash’s regional and global objectives.
• Identify opportunities to leverage technology for process improvement, cost reduction, and business growth.
• Research and recommend new technologies or tools to enhance operational efficiency and user experience.

1. Vendor and Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with IT vendors, ensuring quality service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand IT requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.

• Manage the IT budget for Rwanda, ensuring cost control and optimal resource allocation. Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Provide technical support for projects and initiatives as needed.
