Position : HR Manager (Consultant) - Accra

We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven HR Manager with experience in banking or logistics to join us on a project-to-project basis. This role is ideal for a mid-level HR professional with experience in establishing HR structures, policies, and talent management systems. As a consultant, you will collaborate with our leadership team on key HR projects, ensuring the company’s workforce strategies align with business goals. Key Responsibilities:
Executive Recruitment

  • Develop tailored job descriptions that align with business strategy and growth objectives.
  • Identify, source, and assess qualified executive candidates (CEO, Head of Finance, Head of Business) who fit both skillset and company culture.
  • Conduct structured competency-based interviews and shortlist high-potential candidates.
  • Manage offer negotiations and ensure smooth hiring by preparing legally compliant contracts and onboarding plans.

HR Infrastructure Development 

  • Design a clear organizational structure with well-defined reporting lines and functional roles.
  • Develop customized job descriptions for all staff to ensure clarity and accountability.
  • Draft and implement legally compliant offer letters and employment contracts based on industry standards.
  • Create a staff handbook covering key HR policies such as attendance, leave, workplace conduct, and grievance handling.
  • Establish an effective employee onboarding process for the smooth integration of new hires.
  • Implement a performance management framework that includes goal-setting, KPIs, and appraisals.
  • Develop a job grading structure and salary bands in line with market benchmarks to ensure fair compensation.
  • Provide HRIS support or recommendations for streamlining HR processes if needed.

Advisory & Implementation Support

  • Offer ongoing HR advisory services to refine policies and optimize workforce strategies.
  • Provide hands-on support for implementing HR systems, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Guide leadership on best practices for talent management, succession planning, and employee engagement.
  • Assist in fostering a positive workplace culture that enhances employee satisfaction and retention.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience:5+ years in HR management, with a focus on HR strategy, policy development, and recruitment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong organisational and communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of HR policy development and compliance.
  • Proficiency in executive recruitment, talent acquisition, and retention strategies.
  • Experience with performance management systems, job structuring, and salary benchmarking.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to design scalable HR solutions that align with business needs.
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms and digital HR tools is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Environment: Remote/Flexible (there will be a need for you to be onsite depending on the specific project and its nature)
  • Project-based consultancy (not a full-time role).
