Generalist Field Officer 2 - Yei, Central Equatoria State

Purpose
Based in Yei, the Generalist Field Officer 2 supports the Field Team Leader in planning, implementing, and monitoring protection and prevention activities in Yei Sub Delegation with the relevant interlocutors, and facilitates the activities of the other colleagues namely protection and assistance activities. They develop a good network and relationship with the authorities and other relevant actors to the ICRC’s acceptance and operations in the area of responsibility. 
Functional Responsibilities

• Analyse the political, economic, security and social situation of the covered areas.
• Identify the humanitarian needs of the population and proactively supports the sub-delegation to design relevant and impactful interventions for the communities affected by armed conflict.
• Represent the ICRC with external interlocutors; maintain and expand network of interlocutors in the area of responsibility, (i.e., communities, civil society, civil authorities, weapon bearers, etc).
• Present the ICRC principles, mandate and activities implemented in South Sudan to interlocutors.
• Plan, organize and carry out field trips, autonomously or with the Field Team Leader.
• Deal with and organize the implementation and running of small projects or programs as required.
• Supports communication/prevention activities at the sub-delegation in coordination with relevant colleagues.
• Support the Field Team Leader and Head of Sub-delegation by closely coordinating with assistance and protection departments the planning and implementation of programs in Yei area of responsibility.
• Support protection activities in coordination with the Field Team Leader and the Protection Team Leader.
• Coordinate field activities with the Cooperation officer and South Sudan Red Cross (SSRC).
• Lead field teams, ensuring implementation of security rules, implementation of activities in line with strategic orientations and objectives, and report accordingly.
• Keep updated on the work of other humanitarian organizations present in the area covered.
• Participate in the organization and delivery of events, workshops and trainings on the ICRC, the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and international humanitarian law to the relevant target audiences.
• Write analytical situation report, field trip report as required.
