Position : General Mine Worker - Mpumalanga

We are looking for a General Mine Worker.
A General Mine Worker performs a variety of labour-intensive tasks to support mining operations. These duties may involve extracting materials, maintaining equipment, ensuring site safety, and assisting skilled tradespeople. The role is physically demanding and often performed in challenging environmental conditions.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Support:

    • Assist with drilling, blasting, and material extraction processes.
    • Operate and monitor basic mining machinery and equipment.
    • Load and transport materials such as coal, ore, or rock.
  • Site Maintenance:

    • Clean, maintain, and clear debris from work areas.
    • Erect and dismantle temporary support structures (e.g., props, scaffolding).
    • Perform routine inspections of tools and equipment.
  • Safety Compliance:

    • Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
    • Report hazards, incidents, or equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Support Services:

    • Assist electricians, mechanics, and other skilled workers.
    • Deliver supplies and equipment to various parts of the mine.
    • Support mine dewatering and ventilation efforts.

Required profile for job ad : General Mine Worker - Mpumalanga

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent .
  • Experience: Previous experience in mining or industrial labour is an asset but not mandatory.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license .
  • Surface/Underground Mine Induction Training or relevant certifications.

  • Physical fitness and stamina for demanding work
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Willingness to work in shifts, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and harsh environments

Working Conditions:
