Fleet Operations Manager and Warehouse Support (JB4944) - Johannesburg

A logistics and transportation company is looking to hire a versatile Operations Manager to oversee fleet operations and provide warehouse support. The role involves managing a fleet of CODE 14 tautliner vehicles, optimizing routes and fuel usage, ensuring compliance with legal standards, and maintaining high service levels. Additionally, the Operations Manager will assist in warehouse activities, including managing delivery documents, providing ETAs, reporting damages, and coordinating preplanned routes and deliveries. This position requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and flexibility to handle diverse responsibilities and work hours.
Missions :Fleet ManagementManage assets and staff to meet budget objectivesMaximize vehicle utilization, including planning of loads, routes, fuel, and overnight locationsEnsure compliance with Service Level AgreementsInvestigate accidents/incidents and submit documentationSchedule and ensure servicing of equipment/machinery and update COF plansMaintain high discipline levels and ensure staff provide exceptional customer serviceHandle administrative tasks and document controlSolve operational queries and issuesPrepare and submit leave schedules without impacting customer needsGenerate and submit monthly management reportsAssist with breakdowns when necessaryWarehouse SupportAssist in providing and collecting documents during customer load and offload operationsProvide ETAs for collections or deliveries involving the warehouseRecord and report damages received on delivery vehiclesUpdate customers on collection statuses from their clientsPlan and organize routes and deliveries in advance
