Position : Finance Manager - Gauteng

We are looking for a Finance Manager.
Job Summary
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial health of Sunrise Agrofoods by managing financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and compliance. The role ensures effective cost control, supports strategic decision-making, and maintains robust financial systems aligned with the operational needs of a food processing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Monitor financial performance and provide variance analysis against budgets
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records in line with accounting standards
  • Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts
  • Track and control operational costs, particularly production and raw materials
  • Provide financial insights to support pricing, costing, and profitability analysis

Cost Control & Efficiency

  • Implement cost-control measures across production and supply chain processes
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, wastage, and efficiency metrics
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial performance

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with South African tax regulations, statutory requirements, and company policies
  • Manage tax planning, VAT returns, and statutory filings
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations
  • Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity
  • Manage banking relationships and financial transactions
  • Optimize cash utilization and funding requirements

Leadership & Stakeholder Support

  • Lead and supervise the finance team
  • Provide financial guidance to senior management and department heads
  • Support strategic planning, investment decisions, and business expansion initiatives

Key Requirements
Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Professional qualification (e.g., CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA) preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 5–8 years of progressive finance experience, preferably in manufacturing or food processing
  • Strong experience in cost accounting and financial analysis

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong financial reporting and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of South African financial regulations and tax laws
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational ability
  • Leadership and team management capability
