Position : Facilities Manager - Nairobi

We are looking for a Facilities Manager.
Job Summary
The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and efficient operation of all school facilities at Prestige Global Academy. The role ensures that buildings, grounds, and equipment are well-maintained, compliant with safety standards, and supportive of a high-quality learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Management & Maintenance

  • Oversee day-to-day maintenance of school buildings, classrooms, and infrastructure
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules
  • Ensure timely repair of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Maintain school grounds, including landscaping and outdoor areas

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments
  • Implement and monitor emergency procedures and safety policies
  • Coordinate fire safety systems, drills, and equipment maintenance

Contractor & Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with external service providers and contractors
  • Oversee service contracts (cleaning, security, maintenance, waste management)
  • Ensure quality service delivery and cost-effectiveness

Resource & Asset Management

  • Maintain an inventory of school assets and equipment
  • Oversee procurement of maintenance supplies and services
  • Monitor utility usage (water, electricity) and implement cost-saving initiatives

Project Management

  • Plan and supervise renovation, expansion, and infrastructure projects
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to required standards

Team Supervision

  • Supervise maintenance staff, cleaners, and support personnel
  • Allocate tasks and monitor performance to ensure efficiency

Key Requirements
Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Services, or related field

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities or property management
  • Experience in a school or institutional environment is an advantage

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Good project management and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and team management ability
  • Budgeting and cost control skills
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
