Position : Executive Chef – Hospital Canteen - Namibia

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Executive Chef to lead culinary operations within the hospital canteen. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality, nutritious, and appealing meals for hospital staff, visitors, and approved guests while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and hospitality. Hospitality experience is preferred, along with a strong understanding of large-scale food production in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all kitchen operations within the hospital canteen
  • Plan, develop, and oversee menus that meet nutritional guidelines, dietary requirements, and budgetary targets
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, infection control, and HACCP regulations
  • Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement
  • Manage food production schedules to ensure consistency, quality, and timely service
  • Control food costs, minimize waste, and manage inventory and supplier relationships
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and workplace safety
  • Support catering for internal meetings, staff functions, and special events as required
  • Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance dining satisfaction

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef, Head Chef, or Senior Sous Chef
  • Hospitality experience preferred (hotel, restaurant, or high-volume food service environment)
  • Experience in healthcare, institutional, or contract catering is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of nutrition, special diets, and allergen management
  • In-depth understanding of food safety legislation and infection control standards
  • Demonstrated leadership, team management, and training experience
