Position : ATAF Women in Tax Network – Technical Lead - Pretoria

The purpose of the Technical Lead, AWITN is to manage a set of projects and initiatives including research on issues related to gender-based disparities; development and dissemination of models, guidance and recommendations for addressing these issues.  The role also entails planning and coordinating AWITN activities and delivery of the associated technical assistance activities.
 
The tasks included under this assignment are:  

  1. Planning and budgeting of projects/programmes
  2. Identify areas of research on tax and gender
  3. Capacity building and technical assistance
  4. Coordinate and support the AWITN projects/programmes including the mentorship and leadership programmes.
  5. Identify key strategic partnership for women in tax network initiatives.
  6. Manage communication with the AWITN Board and Advisory group
  7. Develop and implement a marketing and communication plan for AWITN

The Individual expert is expected to have among others the following qualifications and key competencies:
Qualification and experience

  • A master’s degree in taxation, economics, business administration, public policy and administration or similar/relevant discipline obtained from recognized universities.
  • He/she must have at least 3-5 years of working experience in tax and/or Economics research.

Added Advantages

  • Experience in gender related projects
  • Experience in programmes dealing with women empowerment and/or gender mainstreaming projects.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken French/Portuguese languages.
