Position : Assistant Operations Manager - Sesriem / Sossusvlei

Sossusvlei Lodge is looking for an Assistant Operations Manager to join their Management Team
Responsibilities :

  • Operational Support:

    • Assist in the planning and execution of daily operations to ensure smooth workflow and efficiency.
  • Team Coordination:

    • Supervise and coordinate activities of staff, providing guidance and support to enhance productivity.
  • Process Improvement:

    • Identify areas for operational improvement and assist in implementing new procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Inventory Management:

    • Monitor inventory levels, assist in ordering supplies, and ensure that stock is maintained according to demand.
  • Performance Monitoring:

    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports on operational performance for management review.
  • Training and Development:

    • Help train new employees and support ongoing training initiatives to ensure staff are equipped to meet operational standards.
  • Customer Service:

    • Address customer inquiries and concerns, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Compliance and Safety:

    • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and health and safety standards.
  • Administrative Tasks:

    • Assist in budget preparation, expense tracking, and other administrative duties as needed.
  • Project Support:

    • Participate in special projects or initiatives as directed by the operations manager, contributing to strategic planning and execution.

  • Strong Team and Project Management background
  • Computer Skills
  • Excellent all-round maintenance and construction knowledge
  • Responsible for assisting the Operations Manager with overseeing the maintenance team and their activities and projects.
  • Ensure cost-efficient maintenance of rooms, buildings, roads, vehicles, borders, etc.
  • Must be familiar with farm management and upkeep of borehole pumps, generators etc.
  • Excellent game and fence management
  • Water, Waste, Solar and Electrical repairs and management
  • Fleet Management
  • Plan and upkeep of in-house gardens
  • Be able to work irregular hours
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Be able to work as an Individual as well as in a Team

Applicants must fall within the following criteria:

  • Ages between 30 and 45
  • No dependants
  • Own Transport and valid driver’s licence
  • Solid track record
  • Namibian Citizens
  • Must have 5 years’ experience in the below criteria:
