Position : Actuarial Manager - Freetown

We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Actuarial Manager to lead actuarial analysis, risk modelling, and financial forecasting activities. The successful candidate will oversee actuarial functions, support strategic decision-making, and ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead actuarial valuations, pricing models, and risk assessments
  • Develop and review actuarial models for insurance, pensions, or financial products
  • Analyse trends related to mortality, morbidity, claims, and financial risk
  • Support product development, pricing strategies, and profitability analysis
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and actuarial standards
  • Prepare actuarial reports for management, regulators, and stakeholders
  • Manage, mentor, and develop actuarial analysts and junior staff
  • Collaborate with finance, underwriting, risk, and compliance teams

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional actuarial qualification or progress toward qualification (e.g., IFoA, SOA, CAS)
  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant actuarial experience, with leadership or supervisory exposure
  • Strong knowledge of actuarial modelling, valuation techniques, and risk management
  • Proficiency in actuarial and analytical tools (e.g., Excel, R, Python, SQL, actuarial software)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
