Position : Accountant - Lagos

A company based in Lekki phase one ,Lagos is looking to hire an Accountant.
Responsibilities :

  • Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Bookkeeping:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Tax Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare tax returns, identifying potential tax savings.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring variances and providing analysis.
  • Audit Preparation:

    • Prepare for internal and external audits, ensuring all financial records are accurate and complete.
  • Financial Analysis:

    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Expense Management:

    • Monitor and control company expenditures to ensure adherence to budgets.
  • Regulatory Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, keeping up to date with changes in accounting laws.
  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting systems.

Required profile for job ad : Accountant - Lagos

  • Educational Background:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) is often preferred.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Understanding of Accounting Principles:

    • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
  • Analytical Skills:

    • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Problem-Solving Ability:

    • Ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Communication Skills:
