Position : Public Relations and Marketing Officer - Kampala

Belle Beauty is seeking a dynamic Public Relations and Marketing Officer to amplify our brand presence and drive market expansion. As a lifestyle marketplace that connects consumers with a diverse range of products and services, we need a strategic communicator who can bridge the gap between high-level brand storytelling and performance-driven marketing.
In this role, you will be the architect of Belle Beauty’s public image, ensuring our message of accessibility and quality resonates across all lifestyle sectors—from beauty and wellness to broader consumer goods.
Key Responsibilities

  • Integrated Marketing Strategy: Design and execute comprehensive marketing campaigns that drive user acquisition and vendor engagement on the Belle Beauty marketplace.
  • Media Relations & PR: Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, bloggers, and lifestyle influencers. Draft press releases, manage media inquiries, and secure high-impact coverage.
  • Brand Positioning: Ensure a consistent brand voice across all touchpoints. You will define how Belle Beauty is perceived as a versatile lifestyle destination, not just a beauty-specific platform.
  • Partnership Development: Identify and negotiate strategic partnerships with complementary brands, corporate sponsors, and event organizers to expand our market reach.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends and competitor activity within the lifestyle and e-commerce sectors to identify new opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Event Management: Lead the planning and execution of promotional events, pop-up shops, and community engagement initiatives.

Requirements & Skills

  • Experience: 3+ years in PR, Marketing, or Communications, ideally within a multi-vendor marketplace or lifestyle brand.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You must be as comfortable pitching to a news editor as you are writing a catchy campaign slogan.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyze market data and translate insights into actionable marketing plans.
  • Networking: A proven track record of building professional networks and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Digital Literacy: Familiarity with CRM tools, SEO principles, and digital advertising platforms (Meta Ads, Google Ads).
  • Adaptability: A "startup mindset"—thriving in a fast-paced environment where you can wear multiple hats and pivot strategies based on real-time feedback.
