The school is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Teacher to provide academic leadership, mentor junior teachers, and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with international standards.
Position Summary
The Senior Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging classroom instruction, supporting curriculum development, leading subject coordination, and promoting high teaching standards across the elementary section. The role requires strong instructional leadership and the ability to foster a positive, child-centered learning environment.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with international curriculum standards (e.g., Cambridge, IB, or British Curriculum).
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to track and report student progress.
  • Foster creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Curriculum & Academic Leadership

  • Lead subject planning and curriculum review initiatives.
  • Mentor and support junior teachers in lesson planning and classroom management.
  • Contribute to academic improvement plans and performance strategies.
  • Ensure teaching practices meet international quality benchmarks.

Student Development & Welfare

  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
  • Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral development.
  • Identify learning difficulties and collaborate with parents and specialists when needed.
  • Act as a role model of professionalism and integrity.

Assessment & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate academic records.
  • Prepare detailed progress reports and conduct parent-teacher conferences.
  • Analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions.

School Community Engagement

  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development programs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance school-wide initiatives.
  • Engage actively with parents and guardians to support student achievement.

Qualifications & Requirements
Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.) or related field (required).
  • Master’s Degree in Education or Curriculum Studies (preferred).
  • Valid Teaching License/Certification recognized in Zambia.

Experience

  • Minimum 5–8 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international or private school setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring teachers or leading academic teams.
  • Familiarity with international curricula such as Cambridge, IB, or British Curriculum is an advantage.
