Position : Quality Control (QC) Manager - Gauteng

We are looking for a Quality Control (QC) Manager.
Job Purpose
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring that all products meet the company’s quality standards, food safety regulations, and customer expectations. This role oversees the QC team, develops quality assurance processes, and implements continuous improvement initiatives within the food processing operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and policies across production.
  • Monitor and inspect raw materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with South African food safety regulations, HACCP, and ISO standards.
  • Lead, train, and supervise the quality control team to maintain high performance and adherence to protocols.
  • Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate quality records, reports, and documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with production, procurement, and R&D teams to improve product quality and processes.
  • Conduct regular quality audits and inspections of suppliers and production processes.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and product consistency.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality control/assurance within the food processing industry, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, ISO standards, food safety regulations, and quality management systems.
  • Experience in laboratory testing, quality inspections, and audits.
