Position : Drill Rig Operator - Mashishing, Brits

We are looking for a Drill Rig Operator - Mashishing & Brits.

The Drill Rig Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and productive operation of drilling machinery for the extraction of water, minerals, or other substances. This includes setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and achieving production and operational targets.
Responsibilities :
As a Drill Rig Operator, you will:

  • Operate and maintain drilling equipment in accordance with company procedures.
  • Perform daily inspections, minor repairs, and regular maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and report issues to management.
  • Maintain accurate drilling activity records.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety standards and protocols.
  • Operate Drill Rig and handle equipment safely and in line with production requirements.
  • Complete daily checklists and conduct visual walkarounds.
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs and report faults immediately.
  • Grease and maintain critical components daily.
  • Maintain cleanliness of rig, vehicles, and site.
  • Assist with equipment servicing under supervision.
  • Ensure PPE is worn at all times and safety protocols are followed.
  • Record meters drilled, casing used, and fuel/oil consumption.
  • Liaise with clients regarding drilling progress and concerns.
  • Perform additional tasks as reasonably required by management.

    Requirements

    • Valid Code 10/14 Driver’s Licence
    • Valid PDP
    • Must pass drug screening and background/pre-employment checks
    • Willingness to travel for work
    • Previous experience in a drilling operator role is advantageous
    • Ability to work under pressure and in remote areas
    • Must have manual dexterity and physical endurance
    • Knowledge of mechanical systems and safety protocols
