Position : Finance Manager - Zambia

AfricaWork is recruiting on behalf of one of its clients, a leading company in the energy sector.Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead financial operations, ensure robust internal controls, and provide strategic financial oversight. The successful candidate will support decision-making, financial reporting, and compliance, while driving performance, mitigating risk, and maintaining governance standards across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and investment management.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls, segregation of duties, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor liquidity, manage capital, and oversee investment strategies.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports, including management accounts, variance analysis, and board packs.
  • Manage project finance, cost tracking, and contractor payments.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team to foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Required profile for job ad : Finance Manager - Zambia

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) or equivalent professional body.
  • Professional certification required: CA, ACCA, CPA, or CMA.
  • 10–12 years in finance, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong experience in multi-entity consolidations, intercompany accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, and audits.
  • Proficiency in financial software (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience in the energy sector is highly desirable.
