Position : Agricultural Liaison Officer - Accra

Job Summary
We are looking for an Agricultural Liaison Officer.
The Agricultural Liaison Officer at GeenGate Foods serves as the key point of contact between the company and its agricultural partners, including farmers, cooperatives, suppliers, and extension services. This role ensures a reliable, quality supply of raw agricultural materials by strengthening farm-to-factory linkages, supporting out-grower programs, and promoting sustainable farming practices aligned with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Farmer Engagement & Support

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with smallholder farmers, farmer groups, and agricultural cooperatives.
  • Conduct regular field visits to assess crop progress, provide guidance, and resolve challenges.
  • Educate farmers on agronomic best practices, input usage, and post-harvest handling.

2. Out-Grower Program Coordination

  • Coordinate and manage out-grower schemes and supply chain contracts.
  • Monitor production volumes to ensure targets for quality and quantity are met.
  • Facilitate input distribution (seeds, fertilizers, agro-chemicals) and ensure timely delivery.

3. Quality & Compliance

  • Work with Quality Assurance and Processing teams to ensure raw materials meet quality and food safety standards.
  • Implement traceability measures from farm to factory floor.
  • Support internal audits, documentation, and compliance reporting.

4. Data & Reporting

  • Collect, analyze, and report on agricultural production metrics.
  • Maintain accurate records of farm yields, delivery performance, and supplier information.
  • Prepare regular reports for management on trends and risks.

5. Training & Capacity Building

  • Organize farmer training sessions on modern farming techniques, sustainability, and post-harvest loss reduction.
  • Liaise with agricultural extension agents, NGOs, and government bodies for technical support.

6. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent GeenGate Foods at agricultural forums, stakeholder meetings, and supplier events.
  • Identify and onboard new farmers and supplier partners to expand raw material sourcing.

Required profile for job ad : Agricultural Liaison Officer - Accra

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, Horticulture, or related field.
  • Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in agricultural extension, farm management, or supply chain coordination (ideally in food processing or agribusiness).
  • Knowledge of Ghanaian farming systems and crops relevant to GeenGate Foods’ supply chain.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently in rural and field settings.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in local languages (e.g., Twi, Ewe, Ga) is an advantage.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data tracking tools.
