Position : Chrome Sampler - Lalapansi

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and physically capable Chrome Sampler to join our operations team at our Lalapansi site. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting representative samples of chrome ore throughout the mining and processing cycle to ensure quality control and accurate grade determination.
Key Responsibilities

  • Collect representative chrome ore samples from various points including mine faces, stockpiles, crushing plants, and loading areas according to established sampling protocols
  • Prepare and label samples accurately with relevant information including location, date, time, and ore characteristics
  • Maintain proper chain of custody documentation for all samples collected
  • Split and reduce samples to appropriate sizes for laboratory analysis
  • Package and dispatch samples to the assay laboratory in a timely manner
  • Record sampling data and maintain accurate sampling logs and registers
  • Conduct visual assessments of chrome ore quality and report any anomalies to supervisors
  • Ensure sampling equipment is properly cleaned and maintained
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures during sampling operations
  • Assist with stockpile management and ore grade reconciliation activities
  • Work closely with geologists, mine operators, and metallurgists to optimize sampling procedures

Required profile for job ad : Chrome Sampler - Lalapansi

  • Ordinary Level certificate with passes in Mathematics and English
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in mineral sampling, preferably chrome ore or other metalliferous ores
  • Understanding of sampling theory and techniques
  • Knowledge of chrome ore characteristics and grading systems
  • Physical fitness to work in mining environments and handle sampling equipment
