We are seeking a passionate and detail-driven Assistant General Restaurant Manager to support the General Manager in the daily operations of high-end, fine-dining restaurants in Pretoria and Johannesburg. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in a premium environment and is ready to step into senior leadership while maintaining exceptional service standards.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth operations, guest satisfaction, staff performance, and financial discipline.
Key Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day restaurant operations
  • Ensure exceptional guest experiences aligned with fine-dining standards
  • Supervise, train, and motivate FOH and BOH teams
  • Assist with staff scheduling, performance management, and training initiatives
  • Monitor service quality, presentation, and operational procedures
  • Assist in managing budgets, stock control, and cost efficiencies
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and labour regulations
  • Step into the General Manager role when required
  • Handle guest feedback and resolve issues professionally and efficiently
  • Uphold brand standards and company values at all times

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Assistant General ManagerRestaurant Manager, or Senior Floor Manager in a fine-dining or premium restaurant environment
  • Strong knowledge of luxury service standards and guest engagement
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Solid understanding of restaurant operations and cost control
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Well-presented, professional, and service-driven
