Job Summary
The HR Manager will oversee all human resource functions at Farmgate Foods, ensuring effective recruitment, employee development, performance management, compliance, and a strong organizational culture. This role provides strategic HR leadership while also managing day-to-day HR operations to support the company’s growth and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Staffing

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain qualified talent.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, interviews, selection, and onboarding.
  • Work closely with department managers to identify staffing needs and support succession planning.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Promote a positive organizational culture and maintain high levels of employee engagement.
  • Handle employee grievances, conflicts, and disciplinary matters in a professional and fair manner.
  • Design and implement employee recognition and retention programs.

Training & Development

  • Identify training needs and coordinate staff development programs to enhance skills and performance.
  • Support performance management systems, including appraisals and career development plans.

Policy & Compliance

  • Develop, review, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
  • Ensure compliance with South Sudan labor laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, and HR documentation.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and employee compensation programs.
  • Monitor HR budgets and recommend improvements to compensation and benefits structures.

HR Strategy & Leadership

  • Partner with senior management to align HR strategies with organizational goals.
  • Lead and support the HR team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Track HR metrics and provide regular reports on workforce trends and HR-related issues.

Qualifications & Experience
Education & Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional HR certification such as CIPD, SHRM, or equivalent is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HR management, preferably within manufacturing, FMCG, or food processing industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment, employee relations, HR policy development, and performance management.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of South Sudan labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple HR functions and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Working Conditions

  • Office-based role with regular interaction across production and administrative departments.
  • Occasional travel to production facilities or remote sites may be required.
