Position : Software Development Intern - Remote

Cylacon is offering a professional Software Development Internship designed for motivated students, Fresh graduates and junior developers who want real industry experience. This is a hands-on, project-based internship where you will work with our engineering team on real, high-impact applications across Africa and beyond. The program is unpaid, fully remote, and runs under the supervision of senior engineers. At the end of the internship, top-performing candidates may be considered for full-time positions. Interns will build modern web applications, strengthen their backend skills, improve frontend development, learn security best practices, and explore mobile app development. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who want to grow fast, build strong portfolios, and gain practical experience in real development environments.
Responsibilities

  • Develop frontend interfaces using React and Next.js
  • Assist in building backend APIs using Node.js and PostgreSQL
  • Collaborate with the engineering team on active client projects
  • Participate in weekly training sessions and code reviews
  • Implement basic security practices in real-world applications
  • Test, debug, and optimize web applications
  • Research and propose solutions to technical problems
  • Document development tasks and progress

Qualifications

  • Currently a student or recent graduate in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Portfolio or GitHub projects preferred
  • Basic understanding of UI/UX principles is a plus
  • Knowledge of REST APIs is an advantage
