Position : Community Radio Station Manager - Kalumbila District
Our client is seeking a visionary and dynamic Community Radio Station Manager to commission and oversee the operations of a newly established radio station in Kalumbila District. This station is designed to operate on a self-sustainable model, with a core mission to serve and empower the local community.
Responsibilities :The Community Radio Station Manager will oversee the station’s operations, ensuring alignment with its mission and objectives. The manager will report to the board while supervising programming, staff, and resources. Core responsibilities include:
- Ensuring compliance with broadcasting standards, laws, and regulations.
- Maintaining accurate records and preparing regular reports.
- Overseeing day-to-day operations, including inventory management, safety, and space utilization.
- Developing and implementing short- and long-term goals, policies, and procedures.
- Leading staff recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Coordinating volunteer programs to engage the community.
- Providing leadership and mentorship to staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Serving as the secretariat for the board, ensuring efficient communication and support.
- Mobilizing and managing resources prudently to sustain operations.
- Initiating innovative ideas to drive growth and sustainability.

- Proven experience in broadcast sales, management, and mentoring within the radio industry.
- Thorough knowledge of Zambian broadcasting regulations.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting, Communications, or a related field from a reputable institution.
- 3–5 years of community radio management experience, including at least 2 years in a senior management role.
- Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation of communication programs is an added advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of local cultural norms and traditions.
- Fluency in Kikaonde and other local languages of the North western Province is an added Advantage.
