Position : Head of Upper Primary and Junior Secondary School - Nairobi
The Head of Upper Primary and Junior Secondary School (JSS) will oversee academic excellence, curriculum implementation, staff management, and student discipline within Upper Primary and JSS. This role ensures that students achieve their full potential in a nurturing and supportive environment, in alignment with the school vision and values.
Missions :
Academic Leadership
- Oversee the development and implementation of the curriculum for Upper Primary and JSS, ensuring alignment with national and school standards.
- Monitor teaching strategies and ensure high-quality delivery of lessons to meet diverse learner needs.
- Lead the preparation and administration of examinations, including setting benchmarks for academic performance.
- Use data-driven strategies to track and improve student performance.
Student Development
- Foster a supportive environment that promotes student engagement, well-being, and personal growth.
- Oversee co-curricular activities and ensure they align with educational objectives.
- Monitor and support the transition process for students moving from Upper Primary to JSS.
Staff Management
- Provide leadership and mentorship to teachers in Upper Primary and JSS, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
- Conduct regular staff evaluations to ensure teaching standards are met.
- Organize and facilitate training programs for teachers, focusing on innovative teaching practices and curriculum delivery.
Discipline and Behavior Management
- Maintain discipline and enforce the school's code of conduct among students.
- Handle escalated disciplinary cases, ensuring fairness and consistency in decisions.
- Work with parents and guardians to address student behavior and academic challenges.
Operational Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of Upper Primary and JSS, including timetable scheduling and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth school operations.
- Prepare termly and annual reports on the performance and progress of Upper Primary and JSS.
Parent and Community Engagement
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress, achievements, and areas of concern.
- Organize parent-teacher meetings and workshops to promote collaboration between the school and families.
- Represent Upper Primary and JSS in school events and community activities.

Qualifications :
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years teaching experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
