Position : Supply Chain Manager - Lusaka
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Manager with 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, logistics, warehousing, inventory control and vendor management. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end supply chain functions, improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure seamless flow of goods and information across the value chain.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Strategy & Planning
- Develop supply chain strategies that support business goals, efficiency, and cost optimization.
- Forecast demand, manage capacity planning and coordinate supply plans across departments.
- Identify improvement opportunities and implement automation/lean solutions.
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Oversee supplier sourcing, contract negotiation and cost control.
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of quality goods.
- Monitor supplier performance using SLAs and KPIs.
Logistics, Distribution & Transportation
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics, freight forwarding, routing and delivery scheduling.
- Optimize transportation and distribution networks to reduce lead time and cost.
- Ensure smooth coordination between warehouses, production and distribution centers.
Warehousing & Inventory Management
- Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, storage, stock rotation and dispatch.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels and reduce stockouts, write-offs and shrinkage.
- Implement WMS/ERP systems for real-time tracking and stock efficiency.
Risk, Compliance & Performance Monitoring
- Implement supply chain controls and ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and industry standards.
- Conduct risk analysis, develop mitigation strategies and maintain business continuity plans.
- Track performance metrics including order accuracy, fulfillment times and cost savings.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Lead, train and mentor supply chain teams to high performance.
- Work cross-functionally with finance, production, sales, quality and operations teams.
- Prepare and present reports to senior leadership on spend, performance and supply chain impact.

Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Logistics or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years supply chain/procurement experience with 4–7 years in management.
- Certifications (added advantage): CIPS, APICS, CSCP, CPIM or Lean Six Sigma.
- Technical Skills: ERP/WMS experience (SAP, Oracle, Sage, Zoho), demand forecasting, supplier scoring, contract management.
- Soft Skills: Negotiation, leadership, analytical thinking, communication, problem solving, stakeholder management.
