Position : Site Foreman / Site Supervisor - Accra

BrownStone Construction Firm Ltd. is seeking a Site Supervisor to oversee daily on-site operations and ensure construction projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to approved quality standards. This role bridges site execution and project management, ensuring plans, people, materials, and timelines are aligned.
The ideal candidate is a strong coordinator and problem-solver with hands-on site experience and the ability to manage multiple work fronts simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities :
Site Operations & Coordination

  • Supervise and coordinate all daily construction activities on site.
  • Ensure work is executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, BoQs, and schedules.
  • Coordinate foremen, artisans, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain productivity and workflow.

Quality Assurance & Control

  • Enforce quality standards and ensure workmanship meets company and project requirements.
  • Inspect work regularly and ensure defects are identified and corrected promptly.
  • Ensure proper construction methods and materials are used at all stages.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Implement and enforce site health and safety procedures.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental standards.

Materials, Resources & Cost Control

  • Monitor material usage, storage, and wastage on site.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and verify quantities and quality.
  • Report material needs, shortages, and variances to the Project Manager.

Scheduling & Progress Monitoring

  • Track daily and weekly progress against the construction schedule.
  • Identify potential delays early and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support look-ahead planning and sequencing of site activities.

Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare daily and weekly site reports (progress, manpower, materials, and issues).
  • Communicate site challenges, risks, and changes promptly to management.
  • Maintain accurate site records and documentation.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise site staff, including foremen and workers.
  • Ensure discipline, productivity, and adherence to site rules.
  • Support training and development of site personnel.

Qualifications & Experience :
Required

  • Proven experience as a Foreman or Senior Tradesperson in building or civil construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
  • Experience supervising artisans and general labor.
  • Good communication and basic reporting skills.

Preferred

  • Technical or vocational training in construction or a related trade.
  • Experience working on residential or commercial real estate projects.
  • Knowledge of Ghanaian construction safety practices.
