The company is driven by innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team.
Job Summary
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, and compliance functions. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information, supports strategic decision-making, and strengthens internal controls within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and South African GAAP.
  • Ensure accurate general ledger management and timely account reconciliations.
  • Lead cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation, within the food processing/manufacturing environment.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of annual budgets.
  • Prepare periodic financial forecasts, including variance analysis and management commentary.

3. Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory reporting requirements, and audit standards.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and prepare supporting documentation.
  • Strengthen and continuously improve internal control processes across financial operations.

4. Management Support

  • Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. Supply Chain, Operations) to align financial outcomes with business objectives.
  • Support process improvement initiatives, including financial automation and ERP system enhancements.

5. Team Leadership

  • Mentor, train, and develop junior accounting staff.
  • Review team outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with accounting standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years’ relevant accounting experience, ideally within manufacturing or food processing.
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS and South African financial reporting standards.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Sage).
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting tools.
