Position : Restaurant Kitchen Supervisor - Gauteng

We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Kitchen Supervisor to support the Head Chef and kitchen management team in the daily running of a busy, quality-focused restaurant in Groenkloof. This role is ideal for a strong kitchen leader who understands operational discipline, food quality standards, and team coordination, and who thrives in a fast-paced service environment.
The successful candidate will help ensure consistency, efficiency, hygiene compliance, and smooth kitchen operations at all times.
Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day kitchen operations during service
  • Support the Head Chef in maintaining food quality and consistency
  • Ensure kitchen staff follow recipes, portion control, and plating standards
  • Assist with staff supervision, training, and shift management
  • Monitor food preparation, timing, and service flow
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas
  • Step in to support service during peak periods as required
  • Communicate effectively with FOH and management teams

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Kitchen SupervisorSenior Line Cook, or Sous Chef in a restaurant or hospitality environment
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards
  • Ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
