Position : Operations Manager – Hospital Canteen - Namibia
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of the hospital canteen. The successful candidate will ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality food service for hospital staff, visitors, and approved guests, while maintaining excellent hospitality standards. Hospitality experience is preferred, along with strong leadership and operational management skills in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the hospital canteen, ensuring smooth service and operational efficiency
- Manage and support catering, kitchen, and front-of-house teams, including staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management
- Ensure full compliance with hospital policies, food safety regulations, HACCP standards, infection control, and health & safety requirements
- Monitor service quality, cleanliness, and customer experience across all areas of operation
- Manage budgets, control costs, and oversee stock management and procurement
- Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency and service delivery
- Handle customer feedback, incidents, and service issues in a professional and timely manner
- Prepare operational reports, KPIs, and performance updates for senior management
- Support catering for internal hospital meetings, staff events, and special functions as required

Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in operations management, catering management, or hospitality management
- Hospitality experience preferred (hotel, restaurant, or large-scale food service environment)
- Experience in healthcare, institutional, or contract catering is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of food safety, health & safety, and compliance standards
- Demonstrated experience managing teams and multi-functional operations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment

Working Conditions
