Position : National Sales Manager - Harare
Job Function:
Our client, a multinational pharmaceutical company is looking out to fill in the position of a National Sales Manager whose role will be to ensure consistent sales growth and achievement of sales goals and targets for assigned product lines, identifying opportunities and gaining new business while maintaining existing business. They will also be responsible in managing a team of well trained and motivated sales managers, supervisors and representatives across the territory through regular in-field training, coaching, clear communication, and constructive feedback mechanisms.
Key Performance Areas:
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, SOP’s and processes including managing operational risk and risk mitigation initiatives in their respective regions.
- Use multiple data sources to analyse performance dynamics, identify product trends and opportunities and develop insight based multi-channel area business plans.
- Support the product and commercial excellence teams
- Lead all appropriate performance management discussions and actively participates in the recruitment of medical representatives.
- Develop collaborative external and internal relationships that enhance the customer journey, channel customer feedback into the organisation and build the field sales teams capability to do the same through coaching.
- Promote an open, transparent and results-focused working environment and culture that delivers on sales commitments.
- Achieve sales, market share and growth objectives for the lines under your management through effective execution of agreed strategies and annual strategic plan.
- Compile and update a Sales Operating Plan for the team after each quarterly review with detailed analysis and feedback to the leadership team.
- Through tailored coaching development plans, coach the field sales team to select and prioritise appropriate customer targets and develop robust, effective and efficient territory coverage call plans and monitor implementation through KPIs.

Qualifications Required:
- A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences. Additional qualification in Sales, Marketing or Business is an added advantage.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Over 10 years sales experience in Pharmaceutical Industry with at least 5 years at management level.
- Strong sales track record and evidence of delivering on targets consistently.
- Ability to engage, collaborate and influence at all organisational and management levels.
